Can you look at my project/robot design/etc. and tell me what you think?

I am happy to look at your project or robot design, but I can't comment on it in my official capacity as a current or past Judge or Judge Advisor. A better use of both your time and mine would be to send forward specific questions that don't ask about hypotheticals. For example, a great question would be "where can we find resources to teach is about ____?" or "are there any activities our team could do to help improve our core values?" A less good question would be "we're thinking of doing ____ and I want to know if it breaks the rules" or "is our project of doing ____ good?"

Can I advertise on this site?

We no longer serve ads from Google, but we are open to static advertisement or partnership opportunities. If you have a product or service relevant to the community served by this site, and would like it to be featured in an unobtrusive manner, please contact us.

Can I sponsor or donate to this site?

Thanks for your generosity! Most of our costs are now covered, or relatively inexpensive. However, we do still incur some expenses and making these resources take lot of time. If you're so inclined, I'd appreciate if you could buy me a coffee.

Advertisements

We no longer serve dynamic ads (e.g. Google AdSense) but reserve the right to resume them at any time. Knowing that this site is designed to deliver services to children and adults alike, any third party ad services employed will be requested to show content friendly to minors. However, we do not make any guarantee of this, and policies from our vendors may vary. Please use this site at your own discretion. For those under 18, please consult with an adult.

We may, from time to time, partner with products, services, and brands that serve the community and showcase their content on this site. If there is a financial arrangement involved, that will be disclosed using a "Sponsored" badge or similar demarcation.

We ran ads from 2017-2022 which helped support the site, but have since moved to an easier-to-maintain site which will help reduce our advertising needs.

Privacy

These are some of the places we may collect your information, and the type of information collected:

• Name, email address, Google Account information (including profile picture and other public information) when using our email list.

• Name, email address, and team number when using certain resources that ask for this information.

• Partially anonymized analytics data collected on our site by Google Analytics (may include browser, location, language, demographics, etc.)

• Clicks on individual links on the website

• Information about the source(s) that drove you to the website

We will never sell your information. If you provide your email address, we may contact you, though you can unsubscribe at any time from group/list emails. If you wish to unsubscribe and cannot use the self service options, please email privacy@jaredhk.com.

Other data collected may be used for statistical and analytical purposes. We may, from time to time, publish our findings. We will never publish personally identifiable information, but we may publish some aggregate data (e.g. countries of our users, spread of teams using resources, etc.). To opt out of tracking, you can install the Google Analytics browser extension which will block automated tracking. On services that ask for your information, leave fields blank or, if required, put team 0000 and email address placeholder@jaredhk.com.

This website is provided free of charge to members of the community. No guarentees are made, expressed or implied, for the accuracy of content on this site. You are encouraged to always check official documentation from FIRST, VEX, or other program providers. No statements made on this site have any official bearing in robotics competitions or any other activities.

Resources provided through the Resource Hub, linked on this site or otherwise, may break, disappear, or change at any time. Resources are routinely archived at the end of the season or their useful life, and sometimes are retired abruptly, without warning.

No individual, without our explicit, written permission, may redistribute or rehost any content on this site. You may always link back to resources on our site, but should never download and share (e.g. rehost) our content. This helps ensure we are able to provide updates, track usage, and better understand the reach of resources.

Some printable resources are pre-marked "Used by special permission" in the footer. These resources may be printed and photo copied, so long as they are not modified. They must include the original header and footer with attribution, and original content. These resources may not be downloaded and reuploaded elsewhere -- the special permission extends only to physical copies.
